Singha Asana: Technique Method Steps, Health Benefits & Precaution in English

SINGHA ASANA:
Singaha asana means making posture like lion. This asana is useful in many types of diseases. All yogis considered about it that in this asana one gets the accomplishment (siddhi) of three bandhas. This is good way to get celibacy. The person has to make roaring like a lion in this asana, so the practice of this asana should be done on a lonely and calm place.
The practice of this asana can be done with the help of four techniques.
First technique:
The practice of this asana should be done on calm and clean environment. First, stand straight by joining both the feet and then sit on the tiptoes on the knees. In this position, raise your heels upward and sit on the heels in this way that the heels may touch to the joint of anus. Complete weight of the whole body will be on the heels in this position. After that, touch your chin to the throat and bring out the tongue from the mouth as much as you can. Now see downward while concentrating between both the eyes and keep the hands on the knees in Gyana Mudara. Now take breath and exhale with a rumbling sound.

Second technique:
Bend your legs from the knees and put your knees forward. Now sit on the heels and bend the body forward and keep your palms on the floor between the knees (the fingers should be kept internal side). Keep the total weight of the whole body on the hands and keep the hands straight. After that, bend your head backward to some extant and bring out the tongue from the mouth according to your capacity. Now concentrate between the eyebrows and take breath and exhale with rumbling sound.

Third technique:
First, bend your right leg from the knee and put under the right hip, and left leg under the left hip. Now keep your both the hands on the floor straight between the both the thighs. After that, stretch your stomach inner side and bulge out the chest and keep the neck straight and then bring out the tongue according to the capacity. Put your eyes on the middle part of the nose, and take breath and exhale with rumbling sound from the throat.

Fourth technique:
In this position, bend your both the legs behind and put the tiptoes on the floor and sit on the heels and keep the knees on the floor. In this position of asana, join the heels and tiptoes and keep the knees separate as much as you can. Now keep your both the hands on the floor between both the thighs and keep your tiptoes open outward. After coming in this position, keep your hands straight and bring out the tongue according to your capacity. Take breath while bending the waist downward and exhale with rumbling sound from the throat.

Special note:
In the last of all three asana of techniques, bend the waist downward and make a sound like lion roaring and raise your mouth upward towards the sky while roaring. Take rest for 1 minute during the practice of asana and do this asana 3 times. The practice of this asana provides same benefit whether any technique among the four is adopted. The practice of this asana can be done on any times and both male and female can do.

Meditation:
The person should concentrate on the throat sound, middle part of the throat and heart. Keep on contracting the muscles during the practice of this asana.

Benefits:
This asana makes the spinal cord strong and increases observing and smelling power. Throat tonsil is cured by this asana. The person, who feels fear, should do the practice of this asana. Wrinkle of the face and under the eyes disappear by this asana. It removes face wrinkle and ends looseness of muscles because of growing age. It provides relief in thyroid glands and anus disorders. The stomach, small intestinal, large intestinal, liver, kidneys and spleen work properly by this asana. It makes the eyes, nose, ears, tongue, palate, teeth and jaw strong. This asana is useful in the treatment of all types of throat diseases as throat spasm, hoarseness and asthma.
This asana is helpful in increasing eyesight and providing much strength to the body like lion.
Women, who love their beauty, can save the beauty of their face. So such women should do the practice of this asana.
