What is Yoga Nidra - Instructions | Practice | Benefits | Precaution in English

Yoga nidra:
Yoganidra is that condition of yoga which ends the stress of the body and brain and provides satisfaction to the mind if it is practiced daily by a person.

Method Of Yoganidra Practice -
  • First, lay down on the ground in shavasan posture and make the body loose so that there is no type of movement in the body.
  • Thereafter, concentrate on the process of inhaling and exhaling breath. Thus, breath will become deep and long.
  • After that, concentrate on the big toe of foot and come towards heart slowly. In the same way, this process should be repeated with other foot.
  • Now, concentrate on the fingers of hand and come towards heart. Thus, do this process with the fingers of the second hand to the heart like before.
  • In the same way, come towards the heart by concentrating on other parts of the body one by one.
  • The body becomes loose completely by yognidra and the body gets relief too.

Now, the mind is brought out from the body by the imaginary desires as- meditate on the mountain, waterfall, river, and greenery, garden, and difference types of trees, sunrise, and birds chirping and desired deity in the mind. Consequently, the mind gets calm and relief by it.

Benefit:
The person remains healthy by the regular practice of yoganidra and he gets long life. A person can stop his breath whenever he wants by the regular practice of yognidra and he can live inside the ground too without air, water and food for many months. The person becomes free from insomnia, depression and other disorders completely by yoganidra.

Special Note:
When the body becomes loose completely during the practice of yoganidra, you should feel the wave of internal consciousness in the body blowing from feet to the head and it should be leaved by returning from up to down side while doing it second time.

Precaution:
If the bitter juice excretes from the upper part of the nose during the period of yoganidra, this practice should be stopped immediately.
This practice should be performed in the observation of experienced yoga teacher otherwise its result may be harmful.
